Summary of a typical event...
Stock Market 2000 is a realistic simulation of the London Stock Exchange trading floor that existed until only a few years ago. Each team receives a portfolio pack prior to the game commencing. This contains Company Background Notes, Rules and Information, Role Badges and £250,000 in Fun Money. Following a brief introduction, teams are given 15 minutes to digest information, discuss and plan strategy. The start of the game is indicated by a long blast on the Trading Floor Buzzer. Share trading takes place in all of the eight companies quoted as well as Oil and the Euro. Share prices are displayed throughout the game both on monitors at the Trading Floor and on the giant screen.

Finance Daily Newspapers are distributed prior to the start of trading on each day. A one minute warning is given before trading commences. When the Trading Floor opens the lights come up and the action begins as our Traders take to the floor! Newsflashes appear on the Digital Display throughout the day, indicated by two short blasts on the Trading Buzzer. There are News Direct Radio Bulletins each morning and afternoon and the Business Lunch T.V. programme is shown each day on the giant screen and on several monitors.

The game runs over five days. As each day draws to a close, a countdown is given during which any final transactions are made in anticipation of share price changes after the Trading Floor closes. Syndicates have a short respite to gather their thoughts, re-group, discuss and plan strategy before the next day. The standard duration of play is 90 minutes (plus introductions etc), with some flexibility. At the end of the final day of trading all Fun Money and Share Certificates are totalled and winners are announced with a PowerPoint display of all final values. Prizes can be awarded if requested.
