2022 Christmas Party Season

19 December 2022

Since joining AOK Events at the beginning of the year as the Marketing Executive, I have experienced the broad range of events that we sell and organise. Concluding with my first Christmas party season in the events industry in London and I absolutely loved it!

Always a fan of lavish Christmas displays, London came back in full swing this year with my personal favourites being the planets above Carnaby Street and the stars decorating Oxford Street. As well as the classic angels on Regent street and in St James.

In person events were also back in full swing and I loved shadowing our event managers running them. Here are some of my favourites:

Conference and Party at Rosewood London and Cirque Le Soir with Emma Ingleton

I arrived at the Rosewood hotel to find Emma setting up the basement ball room for an international conference. The client had been staying at the hotel and used multiple meeting rooms on the final day of their gathering. With buffet style catering, guests were able to network followed by speeches and educational content in the main conference room.

To boost company morale, each guest received a branded tote bag, name tag and sweater upon registering their attendance. Later on Rosie joined us to help manage the evening event. Together we helped guests check into their hotel rooms and facilitated transfers to Cirque le Soir for the Christmas party.

The infamous club adapted their offering for a corporate Christmas party and guests enjoyed pizza, a photo booth and karaoke.

Christmas Dinner at Harrods with Emma Reavley

Next, I joined Emma Reavley at her event in the Baccarat bar in the Harrod’s lower floor. After a glamorous drinks reception serving champagne in high end glassware, guests sat down for a Christmas dinner and exchanged their secret Santa gifts. Harrod’s was the perfect setting for the black tie event, with a short walk between the bar and the restaurant and impeccable service throughout.

Studio 54 themed Party at Studio Spaces with Louise O’Keeffe

Continuing the Christmas party season, I joined Louise at Studio Spaces in east London. Here I observed a full event set up and theming for a Studio 54 Winter Party. We worked with Bubblegum Balloons on dressing the venue in countless shiny balloons and glitter curtains. In addition, the client requested a games room with Pacman as well as a brilliant vintage photo booth with costumes and a professional photography team.

For the catering, we worked with Kerb to bring multiple street food stands into the larger space who served a variety of food from canapés to freshly made waffles. Smoke machines, up-lighters, glitter cushions, branded ice cubes and LED lights added the final touches.

Christmas Party at Skygarden with Emma Reavley

It is hard to chose a favourite from our fantastic Christmas parties, but the Christmas party at Skygarden will have to be my favourite. Framed by two large illuminated Christmas trees and a whole jungle of plants, London is shown at its finest. We complimented the impressive setting with a live band, roaming stilt walkers and dancers, a DJ, photo booth, tarot card reader and live sketching artists.

Fittingly, guests showed up in Black tie and enjoyed champagne, cocktails and a delicious array of canapés. As we needed to register around 400 guests to the event, Emma recruited half of the creative team to register guests and help make the event a success.

Overall, we had a brilliant return to Christmas events and it was an exciting few weeks to for the whole team.
