FAM trip with Hotel Republic at the Hotel Palace Berlin

This weekend our venue finder Katherine was invited by Hotel Republic on her first FAM trip to Berlin. She stayed at the Hotel Palace Berlin where she was wined and dined. Read on for the full report:

The Site Visit

A site visit of Hotel Palace Berlin was made fun with a scavenger hunt, as we used clues to find the event spaces! The hotel is the perfect venue to host conferences and meetings with 18 modern banquet and conference rooms for up to 900 people. One of the smaller meeting rooms even comes equipped with a giant teddy bear!! In addition, the location of the hotel is ideally placed directly opposite Berlin Zoo, and in winter months when the trees shed their leaves, you can see animals from your room! Conveniently, the U-Bahn is only a 5-minute walk from the hotel which has good transport links to central Berlin.

Lunch at Beef 45

For lunch we were treated to a meal at the hotel’s Beef 45 restaurant (usually only open for dinner) which specialises in a variety of beef dishes. The décor of the restaurant is beautiful: after walking through a neon pink tunnel you are welcomed by a golden gorilla that sits on top of the bar.

Relax in room

Afterwards there was some time to relax in the lovely bedrooms that Hotel Palace Berlin has to offer. Modern yet fun, these rooms are equipped with comfy beds, a selection of coloured lights, a well-stocked mini-bar, and the White Company toiletries in the bathroom. Upon entering my room, I was greeted with a welcome dessert and card which was a really nice touch!

We all spent the evening at an Oktoberfest event just outside of Berlin. The evening was very fun, filled with dancing, singing, German beer and pretzels. I must’ve passed as a local as multiple people approached me speaking German – what a win.

House of Gin

We concluded the evening with a drink in Hotel Palace Berlin’s: House of Gin. This gorgeous gin bar has over 150 different types if gin to choose from and is a very attractive evening venue.

Sightseeing and lunch in Bavarian restaurant

The next day, while feeling a little tired after a very long day and a late night, we ate a very nice hotel breakfast and headed off sightseeing. Berlin is a huge city and we walked to see the Brandenburg Gate, Checkpoint Charlie, and the Checkpoint Charlie Museum. Afterwards, we headed to a traditional Bavarian restaurant for lunch before heading back to the airport.

All in all, I had a really lovely time with Hotel Republic and the Hotel Palace Berlin, seeing event spaces in person and being able to experience my first FAM trip! Looking forward to many more in the future!
