We headed down to the stunning countryside of Devon for a luxurious and fun-filled weekend at the 5-red-star, Bovey Castle Hotel. The evening kicked off in the long barn where we made cider and Slo Gin. Much to our delight, we had the task of tasting the gin and cider too! The evening was rounded off with a delicious 5-course tasting menu and wine pairing set in the beautiful Bovey Room.
The fun continued in the morning as we were hosted by a gentleman called Martin for the falconry experience. His endless whit and his gorgeous dog Will made the experience extremely entertaining and unforgettable, the perfect start to the day. Following the Falconry, we embarked on a Bovey's Woodland survival where we were split into teams and given bare essentials to make a shelter and a fire. Everyone's inner child and competitive side emerged but the teams managed to work together to produce a semi-habitable den. After setting up shelter, we made nettle soup and bread on a stick, which was surprisingly not too shabby (something Bear Grylls would be proud of). This team building exercise was enjoyed by everyone and was a great task to bring out everyone's ingenuity and problem-solving skills.
After a great morning in Bovey’s Woodland, we were then given a tour of Bovey Castle conference centre which offers great facilities and can seat up to 120 delegates theatre style. Bovey Castle has 60 luxurious bedrooms within the hotel and also has the option of their 22 beautiful lodges which have up to 3 bedrooms, each with their own bathroom, stunning views of the grounds and excellent kitchen and living areas.
Bovey Castle continued to wow throughout our stay. We would absolutely recommend this magical country house hotel, to anyone looking for a team offsite or team building. Bovey Castle has everything from Duck herding to 4 x 4 off-road driving experience.
Thank you once again to the Bovey Castle Hotel and the team for an unforgettable stay.
