AOK Events - Live Events, Venue Finding and Official Hospitality Packages

With Earth Day taking place on the 22nd April, as well as the increasing effects of climate change become more and more evident, we thought we'd put together a list of sustainable and eco-friendly venues both in the UK and further afield to help you make an educated choice for your next event.

THE CRYSTAL

Capacities: 30 – 270 across 14 spaces

The Crystal tops the charts as one of the world’s most sustainable buildings, never mind its state of the art events space! Since opening in 2012 the Crystal has set the bar for sustainable building design and is the only building in the world to receive the highest certification in both the BREEAM and LEED schemes as well as many other accreditations.

THE ROYAL LANCASTER

Capacities: 2 – 1,000 guests across 9 spaces

The Royal Lancaster is a member of the Considerate Hoteliers Association and a holder of the silver award for Green tourism in London. They have even hired a ‘Green Team’ that monitors the hotel and everything it does to help advise how they can reduce their waste and reduce their carbon emissions!

DAYLESFORD FARM, OXFORD

Capacities: 60 – 100 across the farm

Daylesford Farm was once a working farm, but just over forty years ago the owners decided to convert it into a sustainable, organic farm, event space and hotel. Daylesford is one of the most sustainable farms in the whole of the UK, all the food you eat is grown on the farm and all ingredients used in their cookery schools are locally and sustainably sourced.

QO AMSTERDAM

Capacities: 20 – 240 across the hotel

The QO Amsterdam was created with the idea eliminating the ‘take, make and dispose of’ attitude towards hospitality, and promoting sustainability in the world of hospitality. The hotel endeavors to only use natural and existing products where possible and when it’s not,  they source items that are locally and well produced.

MANDARIN ORIENTAL, LAS VEGAS

Capacities: 12 – 1000 across the hotel

The Mandarin Oriental is Las Vegas’ only sustainable building as well as being LEED certified. The hotel’s windows are created from sustainable materials keeping out the Vegas heat whilst letting in natural daylight, cutting down on air conditioning usage. Alongside the care that has been taken to make the building environmentally friendly, all food served in its restaurants is sustainably sourced, meaning you can dine guilt-free.
