Product Launch Event Ideas: How To Make Yours Stand Out
1 October 2026
You’ve spent months developing a new product. Now it’s time to let people get their hands on it.
That could mean a big reveal in front of your industry, an evening with creators who know your audience, or a press dinner. The format should give people a reason to attend, something to discover, and a clear next step for afterwards.
A product launch event introduces a new product to customers, press, creators, partners, or your own team. It gives them the chance to understand what it does, experience it for themselves, and ask questions of the people behind it.
At AOK Events, we bring together the venue, creative ideas, production, entertainment, and event management to make that happen. Here are some product launch event ideas to get you thinking, with examples from launches we’ve delivered ourselves.
Product Launch Event Ideas & Examples
1. Host A Press Dinner
A launch dinner gives journalists, buyers, and clients time with your team in a setting where conversation comes easily. When the product has a story to explain, a setting like this is best. Whether it’s ingredients to discuss, or a founder that guests would like to meet.
For Elizabeth Arden’s Eight Hour Mist launch, we organised a press dinner at The Langham, London, seating 55 guests at one table. The product’s natural ingredients inspired terrarium place settings and juice shots, while a projection mist curtain created a branded arrival experience guests could walk through. We also worked with the chef on a bespoke menu.
Think about what your own product could bring to the table: a tasting, a short demonstration between courses, or a menu inspired by its ingredients.

2. Give Influencers Something To Experience & Share
Start with creators whose audience and interests suit the product. A skincare launch would benefit from well-known beauty creators, whereas a new running shoe could bring together coaches, runners, and local clubs.
Then, include something worth spending time with and sharing. Product testing stations, expert consultations, a hosted activity, and good lighting can help creators make content that explains the product in their own way.
For Orientica’s fragrance launch, we delivered a Bridgerton-inspired influencer after-party for 275 guests at Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park. A fragrance tester bar, bespoke mocktails inspired by the fragrances, themed actors, a string quartet, and a live illustrator gave guests plenty to explore.
Agree content deliverables, usage rights, timings, and advertising disclosure requirements with your communications team and creators in advance. The ASA’s influencer guidance is a useful reference when planning paid or gifted activity.

3. Turn A Collaboration Into A Gallery Launch
If the product involves an artist, designer, or creative partnership, the launch can give guests a closer look at how it came together. Display original work, introduce the collaborators, and show the connection between the creative process and the finished product.
For Nicholson’s Artist Series label launch, we transformed Unit X in Covent Garden to showcase paintings by Shaquille-Aaron Keith alongside the limited-edition gin bottles they inspired. Floristry, a custom bar, cocktails, and canapés drew on the artwork and the artist’s Caribbean roots.
This format gives guests something to explore before the founder or artist tells the story behind it. The event should register interest while the conversation is fresh.

4. Make A Product Reveal Part Of A Conference
A partner conference can be a strong setting for a technology or business product launch. Your audience is already there to learn about the company, understand its plans, and spend time with the people they work with.
For Fujifilm’s Make More Partner Conference in Vienna, we delivered a three-day programme for 245 partners, with the unveiling of a new printer at its heart. Hilton Vienna Waterfront provided conference facilities, exhibition space, a separate demo space, and meeting rooms. We managed the event’s entire production, logistics, accommodation, and wider guest programme.
Give the reveal a place in the agenda, followed by time for demonstrations and questions. Buyers, distributors, and sales teams may need different conversations, so consider smaller sessions where they can explore the details relevant to them.

5. Take Over A Store For A Beauty Or Fashion Launch
A boutique or retail space can put guests straight into the world of the product and how customers will see it. For beauty launches, that might mean consultations, treatments, or a masterclass. For fashion, it could be a styling session, a collection preview, or personalisation with the designer.
The key is choosing a retail partner and space that suits the brand, perhaps where it can actually be bought. Your own store, a relevant stockist, or an agreed department-store partnership would work well for press and influencers.
Our guide to luxury store takeovers in London explores private beauty experiences and retail activations. For a launch, it’s important to think about how guests can move between appointments, where the product is presented, and how catering and content capture fit around the store.

6. Connect A Pop-Up With Your OOH Campaign
A pop-up (especially those with freebies) gives people a place to try the product, meet the team, and join in. It could be a beauty testing bar, a tasting counter, a styling studio, or a hands-on demonstration space.
Location matters here! Choose somewhere your intended customers already spend time, then make the experience easy to understand. Guests should be able to quickly see what they can try and how they can take part.
If your campaign includes out-of-home (OOH) marketing, connect the advertising with the physical experience. A nearby digital screen could direct people to the pop-up or a tracked QR code could lead to a booking page or product offer.
Your media partner can manage placements and campaign distribution, while the event brief covers what happens when people arrive. For public-facing activity, build location permissions, queues, accessibility, and weather arrangements into the planning.

7. Launch Through A Venue Partnership
Sometimes a venue can become part of how people discover and continue using the product. This is especially relevant for drinks, food, fitness, and lifestyle brands whose products belong within an existing guest experience.
For Nicholson’s drinks launch at Lusty Glaze, we helped identify a venue partnership for the brand’s UK expansion. Nicholson co-invested in a cocktail bar at the Cornwall beach venue, with 22 taps installed across the site. We also managed the launch event with influencers, branding, catering, DJ entertainment, and gifting.
The idea is to find a setting where the product has a useful role beyond launch night. A hotel, restaurant, sports venue, or members’ club could introduce it to relevant customers over time. Start with the audience and commercial fit, then build the celebration around that relationship.

Choose Entertainment That Adds To The Launch
Entertainment can help tell the product’s story and give guests some interactivity with the launch and the product itself. Consider live embroidery, an illustrator creating personalised keepsakes, or a hosted tasting for a drinks launch.
Music also should suit the evening. A launch dinner might call for a live musician on arrival and a host who keeps introductions moving. A larger party could build towards a DJ set once guests have had time to explore the product and meet the team.
Our sister brand, AOK Entertains, has plenty of brand and corporate event entertainment ideas to explore.
Make Time To Host Clients & Partners
A launch can give you valuable time with clients, buyers, and partners. Consider a hosted dinner after the reveal, a reception with your leadership team, or a smaller preview after for key accounts.
For Fujifilm’s Vienna conference, the wider programme included an evening cruise on the Danube and a private dinner at Palais Coburg. Experiences like these give people time to continue conversations beyond the presentation.
Think about who will introduce guests, which members of your team should be available, and where people can sit down for a proper conversation. We’ll take care of the event delivery so your team can be present with the people you’ve invited.
How To Plan A Product Launch Event
Decide what your event needs to achieve
We start with the product, the audience, and the outcome. Are you introducing to the press, securing retailer interest, helping partners understand a new release, or getting customers to demo? Agreeing this early helps us recommend the format and decide how success will be measured.
Choose the format and venue together
We’ll look at the guest numbers, location, timings, and how people should experience the product. A hands-on demo needs different facilities from a seated press dinner. Venue finding and event design should develop together, so the space supports what you want to do.
Build a budget around the experience
A budget should allow for the venue, catering, production, staffing, entertainment, product transport, photography, and any bespoke builds, alongside a contingency. We’ll prioritise the elements that contribute most to the brief and coordinate the event suppliers. Separate budgets should be agreed for paid creators and media activity within teams.
Align the launch event with your launch campaign
We’ll work with your marketing and PR teams on the event timetable, including product readiness, invitations, embargoes, the reveal, and any content deadlines. Confirm who owns each part of the launch and give everyone the same schedule to work from.
Plan the experience & rehearse the reveal
During planning, we consider the journey from arrival to departure. Starting with registration, introductions, product discovery, food and drinks, and time to talk. Behind the scenes, AOK Events will coordinate suppliers, AV, rehearsals, and the running order. Technical demonstrations also need a backup plan if the connection or equipment has other ideas.
Plan the follow-up
Decide what happens after the event for each audience: press assets for journalists, product information for buyers, or a sales conversation for prospective clients. Alongside attendance and content coverage, measure actions such as demo requests, enquiries, trial sign-ups, or purchases. Campaign-tagged links and a dedicated launch landing page can help you understand which activity brings people back.

How To Choose Your Product Launch Venue
The venue should suit both the brand and the practical demands of the event. A beautiful room still needs enough access for the product, suitable power, and space for guests to move comfortably.
Some starting points from our own launches include:
A gallery: For artwork, creative collaborations, and a space you can dress around the product.
A hotel: For a hosted press dinner with considered food, service, and styling or for a reception using grand interiors and garden space.
A conference space: For a reveal that also needs demonstrations, meetings, and guest accommodation.
A boutique or relevant retail space: For consultations, styling sessions, and small-group product discovery.
These are examples to explore with the brief in mind. Our venue finding team can build a shortlist around your dates, audience, budget, and event requirements, then help with negotiations and contracting.
Product Launch Event Ideas Trends Worth Considering
Eventbrite’s 2026 Social Study highlights a growing appetite for live experiences that feel human, participatory, and comfortable to join. For launch planning, we’d translate that into a few practical ideas:
Give guests something they can do together
Like a tasting, styling session, or small workshop creates an easy starting point for conversation.
Make personalisation useful
Tailored product recommendations or a personalised item from the collection give guests something relevant to take home.
Build content opportunities into product discovery
Good lighting, clear demonstrations, and an interesting setting help people show what the product actually does
Plan what happens to the materials afterwards
Reusable display structures, hired furniture, and thoughtful quantities of samples and gifting can reduce unnecessary waste.
