Virtual Kids Club is a huge hit
18 February 2021
Never work with animals and children, the old adage goes. Well this week we have disproved that theory! Like so many employers, Laing O’Rourke – the well known international construction and engineering company – has launched a UK Kids Club to help their large number of employees who (like many of us) are looking for ways to balance home and work life. AOK Events successfully pitched the idea of creating a virtual kids club this half term, giving parents the opportunity of keeping their children entertained and engaged, allowing them to work more normal hours.
Virtual events programme
Our brilliant event managers have created a varied programme of virtual events, appropriate for children from the age of 5-13 that parents could sign their kids up for during this half term week.
We have created 17 different virtual events that appeal to the various demographics, from story telling for the youngest to hip hop dance lessons for the older kids (very popular). We designed and built a branded registration website for both sign up and reporting and we have managed each event during a very busy week.
Helping out parents while WFH
We have had a huge take up with over 300 participants this week alone and incredible feedback so far from parents. One e-mail just came in saying “just wanted to say a huge thank you so far for the sessions laid on. My 2 have loved them, especially the Escape Rooms! They’re in Graffiti Art at the moment and it sounds like they are really enjoying themselves. I can finally get some work done!”.
Laing O’Rourke is incredibly proud of this innovative initiative and based on feedback from the Half Term Virtual Kids Club will consider further roll out to support homeschooling and Easter holiday activities.
