The Brief
NetApp organise their annual UK&I Partner Academy to bring all of their partners together for a one day conference of talks, Q&As and networking. Every year they look to make it a special day with a new and exciting venue. After last year’s event at BAFTA, we chose the newly redeveloped Battersea Power Station to host the conference this year.
The day was made complete with a talk by Nicolas Hamilton and a chance for guests to ascend the Lift 109 experience which brings guests to the top of the power station chimney with a view of the whole of London.
The Venue
We took over Control Room A, which was perfect for a classic conference set up during the day and a festive drinks reception in the evening. Maintaining the original charm of the power station’s control room, this space offers a unique atmosphere.
What we did
- Sourced, booked and managed the venue
- Oversaw AV lighting and production of conference
- Managed guest registration
- Organised all catering
- Booked Nic Hamilton to speak at the event
- Organised six slots for guests to take part in the Lift 109 experience
- Logistics management for groups
- Booked a DJ set for the drinks reception
- Decorated the space with branding and Christmas trees
- Drinks and canapé reception

Nicolas Hamilton
We booked Nicolas Hamilton who spoke about his challenges with his Cerebral Palsy diagnosis, how he learned to walk and came to race cars professionally. Sharing his personal and professional experiences, he speaks about breaking down barriers and overcoming adversity.
The Results
The choice of venue added a huge pull factor, with a large sign up rate from the announcement of the event. NetApp received fantastic feedback from their partners who enjoyed the event and look forward to the next one.
